Cześć Krakow!

Poland. The land of very grumpy train conductors who can't speak English, free city tours with guides who can speak English but in a crazy way - plus deservedly generous tips, stunning women who all seem to have their hair down to their butts and of course, vodka.

I've yet to try the vodka but being a vodka fan, I'm looking forward to trying it from the country that prides itself as the one and only maker of true vodka.

My brief 5 day sojourn in Poland has started off in the still off-the-beaten track yet all-the-more lovely city of Krakow. The Royal City of Poland may not have a monarch no
more but it has got plenty to see within and around - including the site of the former Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz.

It reminds me a bit of compact old Florence but without the crowds, heat and with loads of Poles doing tours.

Anyway here are the pictures from my first day in Krakow.
