On this most Roman of days, I guess it was quite apt that I'd be ripped off for the first time on my trip in Europe this year by a group of Roman 'gladiators' - $30 for you to take a photo with them. Oh well, at least you get a picture with them - or 6 in fact.
Nevertheless, it was the most perfect of days in Rome - it was hot, sunny but not too hot courtesy of a lovely breeze meaning that you could spend the afternoon walking around in the hot sun around what is undoubtedly the oldest city I've ever been in. I thought Florence and London were old. Then I met Rome.
Pictures are probably better at describing the eternal value of Rome. So prego.
